As a captain, Sourav Ganguly hit three centuries in a single World Cup of 2003. It is the second most number of centuries as a captain in World Cup histories. Ganguly is just behind Ricky Ponting – the former World Cup-winning Australian captain who hit four centuries in World Cup as a captain.

Sourav Ganguly is the only Cricketer who wins four successive Man of the Match awards in ODIs in between 14th September and 21st September 1997. As an Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly also won most Man of the Match awards and Man of the Series awards outside India in ODI as well as in international cricket.
