Coronavirus cases in India climb to 906, death toll 20. Indian Govt. unveiled an Rs. 17.1 lakh crore stimulus to help those hit by the 21-day lockdown. WHO Country Office for India has been working closely with MoHFW on preparedness and response measures for COVID-19, including surveillance and contact tracing, laboratory diagnosis, risk communications, and community engagement, hospital preparedness, infection prevention and control, and implementation of containment plan.
As per the latest data provided by the Union Ministry of Health, the death toll due to COVID-19 is 19 in India and 83 people have been cured/discharged. The Union government has allayed fears saying that there was no “hard evidence” to state that stage-3 of Coronavirus has begun.
