Story of the Kesari the Bollywood Movie 2019

The plot focuses on Havildar Ishar Singh who led 21 Sikhs against an army of 10,000 Afghans to defend the North-West Frontier Province. The event is considered one of the greatest last stands in history. The film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle between 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikhs of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi & Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897. The golden history of this epic battle is known by less and the film was the perfect unveiling the story. The story highlights the war drama enriched with bravery and valor of Sikh Warriors in their Kesari turbans. It also keeps the audience engaged due to patriotism as well as the love for their Motherland.

While the movie is based on the bravery of Sikh soldiers and even mentions at the very beginning that the British depended heavily on the Sikh to guard their troubled borders in Western British India, the movie barely manages to show any new side to the Sikh soldiers that haven’t already been put on screen. The movie attempts to cover too many issues without exploring any in particular. It sketchily weaves in caste bias, masculinity, army-politics duality, secularism, and jihad. These loaded subjects come over and above the film’s core theme of Sikh pride, patriotism, colonialism, and fight for Independence. With Kesari, Akshay Kumar is back to doing what he does best: action. Don’t let the dialogue delivery fool you because Kumar does cut in some spectacular sword and gunfights with ample slo-mo shots to highlight his star status.

Story of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi:

The film shows from the birth of Lakshmi Bai to her growing up and the story of fighting against the British for the freedom of Jhansi. As a lady with her bravery and fighting skills against the British is really a courageous step at that time when Kings of several kingdoms got afraid to fight against the British. Riding on the back of a horse with its lagaam in one hand and a swinging sword in other, an infant tied to her chest and fire sparkling in her red eyes- the valor of Jhansi ki Rani Lakshmi Bai is unforgotten”. This film speaks about the legend of Queen Lakshmi Bai, who fought for the throne by igniting an inferno through the “Indian rebellion of 1857” against the British Raj. Kangana Ranaut, who is herself the queen of Bollywood, paints the picture of that fierce warrior by portraying the utmost sense of chivalry rushing in her blood. The movie will give you goosebumps as Kangana has not come undone this time! The remembrance of history lessons and the breathtaking power-packed scenes makes this one special. As the Uri: The Surgical Strike was running successful and that is related to the incident of a few years ago, so it took the heart of the audience. Though it has historical fame it did not get that much love.
